The state policy environment has grown increasingly ripe for advancing the open agenda, particularly in the area of Open Education.  SPARC has been?and will continue?ramping up our efforts to proactively encourage OER-friendly state policies. 

In anticipation of an increase in our work in this area, we will host a members-only webcast on Tuesday, August 29th, at 2pm EDT / 11am PDT to review progress made at the state level on OER policy and look ahead to potential advancements. The event will feature presentations from Nicole Allen, SPARC's Director of Open Education, and Katie Steen, an Open Education Fellow at SPARC. We will also be joined by Representative Thomas Beadle, a member of the North Dakota state legislature who has helped advance the adoption of OER in his state and will provide his perspective as a policymaker.

This webcast is open to all SPARC members, and registration is free but required. A recording of the webcast will be sent to all of those registered following the event.
