This Community Call will focus on open access policy assessment and approaches to measuring policy compliance. COAPI members use different tools and methods to measure open access policy compliance. Assessing policy implementation can help institutions better understand the benefits and/or shortcomings of the work. At the same time, implementing a policy can result in increased demands on the people that manage the workflows. Adding policy assessment and evaluation to a team's already packed work schedule might seem overwhelming to some. Is it worth it?

This call will reflect on the findings of a recent article on policy assessment among COAPI members (https://doi.org/10.7710/2162-3309.2247). Attendees are encouraged to share the challenges and rewards, tools and methods for quantitative and qualitative assessment of OA policies at their institution. What does (or would) work for you at your institution?

The format of the COAPI Community Calls is modeled on SPARC's OpenCon librarian community calls, which seek to create a supportive environment where challenges can be candidly shared and everyone present is encouraged to participate in and shape the discussion.

Thanks for registering, and we look forward to having you on this COAPI community call!
